The Churches of Christ Greet You....
Sunny Glen Children's Home

Food Truck Ministries

Representatives of Sunny Glen Children’s Home make a trip to one of six different cities in Texas, and visit each of these cities twice a year. Goliad Church of Christ is on that route and we enjoy gathering the list of items that the children need. These supplies include things like food, personal hygiene items, school supplies and more. Many of our members give to Sunny Glen as memorials and many give to the home each month as a part of their love gift. It's privilege to be a part of this work. You, too, can be a part of this work. The campus at Sunny Glen Children’s Home has the capacity to house up to 32 children in four different cottages. Sunny Glen limits the number of boys and girls to eight children per cottage so that houseparents are able to meet the needs of all children in our care.

Each cottage is a fully furnished home complete with a kitchen, living room and enough bedrooms to allow each child to have their own room. In addition to the cottages, Sunny Glen Children’s Home has a learning center with a Library, computer lab, classrooms and a counseling department. We also have a first-rate playground so the children have a safe place to play, to be children and, for a moment, leave their troubles behind.

Several years ago two of our ladies met Malena Rampy with Olive Branch Ministries at the Tulsa Workshop.Malena learned that one of the ladies was a nurse and she happened to be planning a medical mission trip for the fall of that year to Piura, Peru. There has been much work in Peru by Olive Branch and Sisters Billups and McKelvey were privileged to be a part of that work for 2 and 3 trips respectively.

What a joy to meet new friends and be a part of this work. The children just take your hearts away. They are so beautiful in body and spirit.
Please pray for this continuing ministry. Check out our links on their website and see upcoming trips and perhaps sign up for one.
